Game/Movie Night
Who doesn’t enjoy a good game night? Make time to connect with your kids while doing something fun. Here are a few tips on how to make it engaging and interactive.
- Let the kids pick a date and help them choose a safe and fun game that also uses their creative and critical thinking skills (Scrabble, Monopoly, Chess, age-appropriate). The winner gets a prize or gets to skip a chore for the week. The loser has to assume the winner’s chore.
- Age-appropriate faith-based movies are a great way to talk to your kids about God and faith. Use vetting tools such as Pluggedin (https://www.pluggedin.com) to research movies before watching.
- Let the kids pick the snacks for the evening (popcorn bar, pizza, chili bar, hamburgers, or a take-out meal like Chick-Fil-A).
- Always get takeaways from your kids. What did they learn or gain from the time you spent together? Celebrate that with them.
