Pick Your Battles and Celebrate the Wins. I am a type A control freak most of the time, and it is so easy to let the smallest thing get under my skin and send me into stress and anxiety. Kids are kids. They are learning, they are pushing boundaries, and they are stretching themselves in all kinds of ways as they navigate this life. Learn to give grace, let things roll off your back, and do not be surprised when things do not go exactly your way. It is easy for us to write up a list of wrongs for the day but pick your battles and make sure to over-emphasize the good moments. Have a dance party, get them a piece of their favorite candy, write a letter about how proud you are of them. Being intentional in the celebration is fun for you and them. Enjoy one another.
