Screaming matches do not bring resolution. If you find yourself becoming angry over the way your child has handled a matter, quickly get yourself and your anger before the Lord. Ask for Him to step into the situation you are facing. Ask Him to give you calmness, patience, peace, and guidance as you speak to your child about his or her wrong actions. If you have sinned in your anger, repent of it, make right with anyone you may have wounded with your words, then let God move you on in freedom.—Shea, Dallas
“This you know, my beloved brethren. But everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger; for the anger of man does not achieve the righteousness of God” (James 1:19-20).
