My husband likes to say, “If Mama “ain’t” happy, nobody is happy.” Like it or not, as mothers, we set the tone for the home and for our family’s day. I am not a morning person and also have suffered from chronic mono/fatigue all my adult life. When my eldest started kindergarten, I found myself being so grouchy with him in the mornings. A couple of weeks in, the Lord stopped me in my tracks and said, “Is this the way you want your child to go out the door in the mornings?” No! It definitely was not. I was the only one with the power to change that, so I made a decision right then and there to make an intentional effort to be cheerful and loving and send him out the door with a hug and wishes for a good day regardless of how I felt. It made all the difference!
