In my early forties, I heard an amazing quote by a pastor to single moms. He stated, “Don’t try to be the dad, just be the mom.” This was so freeing to me because for many years, I attempted to play both roles. Yet after hearing the pastor’s sermon, it reminded me of a great truth: God made me the mom—not the dad, so therefore, through Christ, I am to live out the role He made me to fulfill.

A wonderful reminder: God will be a Father to your children (Psalm 68:5).
