Spend UNDIVIDED time with your kid(s). Set aside time (20 min., 30 min., an hour) where you engage with them DEVICE-FREE. Play what they want to play! (This is important and will make them feel valued). Make eye contact with them. Show them you value them more than your phone, more than the dishes, more than the TV, etc. . . . By giving them your time and attention, you are telling them, “You are important, I value you and love spending time with you.” Kids need this to feel loved and valuable. I wonder how many kids are growing up nowadays feeling like they are less important than their parents’ phones or household chores. Express your love during this time. Tell them that you enjoy spending time with them. You will never regret spending quality time with your children.
