“Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but only one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may win.” (1 Cor. 9:24)

The road was tough, the pain severe, the circumstances horrendous. Andy’s strength was fading and discouragement was setting in. “Was it worth it anymore?” he pondered as he stood at a crossroads in his mind. One way meant a lot of work, sacrifice, and perseverance, but victory guaranteed. The other road, the one most traveled, would certainly be the easiest but would result in little at the end.

The deceiver was attacking Andy’s mind, and quitting suddenly seemed best. He was tired, weary and uncertain of his future. He had almost talked himself out of the path God had called him to. Why? He was focusing on the circumstances surrounding his journey instead of on God who had called him to it.

Andy, quickly realizing he was in the middle of a spiritual warfare, surrendered his thoughts and feelings over to God. As the Lord overtook the young man’s heart, he determined from that moment on to move forward with God, no matter what.

Remember, when we find ourselves standing at a crossroads, we too may be tempted to take the easier route, instead of the one appointed by God. Yet when we do, we may miss God’s best for our lives.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding. (6) In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight.” Pro: 3:5-6 NASB

Keep progressing, my friend, one step at a time in God’s direction. For you will never go wrong by following God’s path.

Prayer: Dear God, please help me when I come to a crossroads in my journey to go the way You are leading. No matter how tough, fearful or lonely the route may appear, help me to always choose Your course over my own.
